Sunrise Farm

Sunrise Farm, where Visions for Creative Housing Solutions began, sits on 80 pastoral acres in Enfield, New Hampshire. In a safe rural setting, Sunrise Farm has many hiking trails, flower and vegetable gardens, and two resident goats. The main house has three individual bedrooms, common areas, a wonderfully large kitchen, and administrative offices. An attached apartment has two bedrooms and communal living areas. A separate “Little House” has three bedrooms and shared living areas, and another on-site building offers four efficiency apartments.

Everyone has access to the in-ground pool, the beautiful grounds, gardens, common social areas and a large kitchen in the main house where family-style meals are offered each evening.

Sunrise Farm was originally owned and operated beginning in 1955 as Kluge’s Inn on Sunset Hill by the family of Visions founding executive director Sylvia Kluge Dow. It later became her family home. Sylvia and her husband David Dow have two daughters, both of whom have special needs. Sylvia is a former special educator and passionate life-long advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities. Sylvia and David Dow, in collaboration with other parents of adult children with disabilities, founded Visions for Creative Housing Solutions. When the organization was incorporated as a nonprofit in 2014, the Sunrise Farm property was transferred to Visions to provide permanent, supported housing for adults with developmental and similar disabilities. Today, Sunrise Farm provides housing for eleven individuals with developmental and other disabilities, combined with the services and supports necessary to maximize their independence and allow them to thrive in the community.
