Announcing our next site: Green Street, Lebanon, NH

“We had been to every other housing option out there.  Bigger sites were institutional and antiseptic.  Small home-placement sites didn’t offer enough oversight.  Visions is the Goldilocks model for us, just right in every way.”

The Green Street Project:

Visions looks forward to expanding to Lebanon, New Hampshire, where plans are in progress to renovate two multi-unit buildings on Green Street into apartments for ten adults with disabilities.  One of the buildings will include common areas and a large kitchen/dining room for family-style dinners, as well as spaces for administrative offices and accommodations for overnight staffing.

In 2016, Visions sponsored a community forum to explore the need for additional supported housing opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities in the Upper Valley.  As the conversation among the people attending the forum made clear, the need for supported housing clearly exceeds the options currently available as increasing numbers of aging parents face the need to establish long-term plans for their adult children.

Following the community forum, a task force was formed.  The task force identified an ideal location for a new site – on Green Street in Lebanon, with excellent access to public transportation, jobs, a range of recreational and cultural facilities, banks, and shopping.

Seed funding has been identified and, in the winter of 2019/2020, Visions will launch its Capital Campaign to raise the $800,000 needed to renovate the two multi-unit buildings.
